Lightning Bug in a Starry Sky is made from gourd I grew. The gourd seed came from a fellow Garden Club member. The button has a painted surface, then decoupaged layers of tissue. Then the design is drawn in outline, and filled in with acrylic paint. After several coats of acrylic sealant, his antennae, made of black waxed linen thread, are attached. Like a true lightning bug, he glows--under black light. Because of the organic nature of gourd, no two buttons ever turn out the same. The button measures about 1 ¾”. US Shipping included
