Subject: Shuttle Services for the Portland Convention

The shuttle will be available for Airport arrivals on Sunday 8/4 through Thursday 8/8 from 10:00am-8:00pm.  The guest needs to phone the hotel (503-283-4466, dial 0 for the front desk) upon arrival at the airport and the hotel will advise the estimated time for the shuttle pick-up.

The shuttle service will be available for departures on Friday 8/9 to Sunday 8/11, from 6:00am-7:00pm.  The guests will need to sign up at the Front Desk for their departure.  The shuttle to the airport will depart the hotel at the top of every hour.

To meet taxies and hotel shuttles at the Portland International Airport:  From the GROUND (baggage claim) level, exit the building and cross the street to Island #3.  Cabs can be hailed and inquiries of shuttles to Red Lion at Jantzen Beach can be made.  When the Red Lion Shuttle is available, this is where it will be found.

The Red Lion at Jantzen Beach is 25-30 minutes from the airport and two routes are commonly used.   The route using either the Washington or the Oregon sides take about the same amount of time and cost seems similar for both routes during peak traffic periods.

When the hotel shuttle is not available to and from the airport, here are some possible options:

- Uber and Lyft.  During peak periods, both could be comparable to taxi fares.  These services must be set up in advance using a smart phone downloaded application from Uber or Lyft’s websites.   During off-peak periods, their services may be more economical.

- Radio Cab:  503-227-1212.  Expect to pay roughly $28-32.  Online booking is available.

- Broadway Cab:  503-333-3333.  Published rates appear to be $3-5 higher than Radio Cab’s for the same ride to the hotel.  Online booking is available.

- Ride sharing makes any option more affordable, including airport shuttles that can be booked via web searches.
